PFP (power fail protection) protects workpiece, tool, spindle and machine thanks to the controlled stop of the shaft and spindle movements and the defined lift-off of the tool shaft.

The functional principle
Power Fail Protection PFP works during:
- Power failure
- Voltage drop
- Voltage fluctuations
- RMS fluctuations
The control detects failures by continuously monitoring the power quality. The system retains enough energy to stop all movements in a defined, safe procedure.
Shaft and spindle movements are stopped actively and the Z-axis is lifted off, if necessary. This ensures that workpieces and tools are not damaged. Once power has been restored correctly, the process can be restarted manually at the point of disruption.
