GF AgieCharmilles’ FORM 2000 earns MWP Award at MACH 2010

Friday 25. June 2010 -

GF AgieCharmilles‘ FORM 2000 with iQ (Innovation and Quality) technology earned the Metal Working Production (MWP) Award for Best Specialized Machining/Manufacturing Equipment at MACH 2010, June 7-11, in Birmingham, UK.

In the award announcement, the FORM 2000 was heralded as revolutionary: “In a strong category, featuring a high degree of innovation, this was transformational—could revolutionize the EDM market.”

The FORM 2000’s iQ technology dramatically reduces, and often completely eliminates, electrode wear. The machine’s zero-wear technology allows manufacturers to more quickly and economically produce precision parts. Because the FORM 2000 enables an electrode to be used repeatedly, the production of complex parts consumes fewer electrodes, and the die-sinking EDM process is not slowed by the wait for replacement electrodes to be machined or delivered.

To earn the MWP Award, GF AgieCharmilles’ FORM 2000 surpassed shortlisted nominees from Soditech EDM, Water Jet Sweden UK, UK Machine Tools, and Vollmer UK.
